Piramyds around the world

Pyramid of Djoser
The most known pyramids are in Egypt, but the pyramids were built around the world in different exotic places that include Europe. These fascinating constructions were made by different ancient civilizations and as incredible as it may sound they had no connection with each other.



Giza Pyramids
As we mentioned at the beginning the most known pyramids are located in Egypt, like the Pyramid of Khufu at Giza, the largest Egyptian pyramid, and one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, but also it is the place with more pyramids in the world as more than 130 pyramids were found in Egypt. The sites where you can find pyramids in Egypt are Giza, Abu Rawash, Zawyet el-Aryan, Abu Sir, Saqqara, where the Step pyramid of Djoser is located, Dahshur, one of the most important pyramid fields outside Giza and Saqqara, although until 1996 the site was inaccessible due to its location within a military base, and was relatively unknown outside archaeological circles, Mazghuna, Lisht, Meidum, Hawara,el-Lahun, El-Kurru, and Nuri.

Chichen Itza
In America, you can also find pyramids, the Aztecs, the Mayans, the Tarascans, the Teotihuacan civilization and the Zapotecs were civilizations that built pyramids, located in Central America, mostly in Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, and part of Honduras the pyramids of this region were usually step pyramids with a temple on the top. The largest pyramid is the Great Pyramid of Cholula located in Puebla, Mexico, you can also find the pyramids of the Mayan in Chichen Itza, Mexico, the pyramid of the Sun at Teotihuacan, Mexico, and the Great Pyramid of Tenochtitlan made by the Aztecs.

In China, in the northwest of Xi'an, in the province of Shaanxi, more than 38 pyramids made to house the remains of ancient emperors of China can be found. They have flat tops and are more similar to the Teotihuacan pyramids in Mexico than the Egyptian pyramids.  The most important is the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor, very near where the Terracotta Warriors were found.

Brihadisvara Temple
In South India, many pyramids were made during the Chola Empire, they are giant granite temples that are mostly in use nowadays, the most known pyramids temples in India are the Brihadisvara Temple at Thanjavur, the Temple of Gangaikondacholapuram, and the Airavatesvara Temple at Darasuram.

Greek pyramids can be found in the plain of Argolid in Greece, the most important is the Pyramid of Hellenikon.

Falicon, France
In Europe there can be found in France, in the region of Falicon, these pyramids were made during the Roman era. But you can also find Pyramids in the Spanish region of Tenerife Canary Islands, a popular holiday destination near the north coast of Africa, they are known as the Pyramids of Güímar, and are referred to six rectangular pyramid-shaped, terraced structures, built from lava stone without the use of mortar. They are located in the district of Chacona, part of the town of Güímar on the island of Tenerife.

Pyramids can be found in many other places around the world, like Peru, Indonesia, Sudan, Nigeria and also in North America, each with differences and similarities, these amazing constructions that were made by ancient civilizations remain nowadays to become tourist attractions.
