Tip 1– Make a wish list

This is a fun way to ensure you know exactly where you want to travel to get the most out of a trip. Make a list of all of the places that you want to go. This is so that you only go to the places that are important for you to see. You do not want to overload or overwhelm yourself as you won’t go anywhere!

Tip 2 – Get a guidebook

Check out the guidebooks for the places that you really want to see from your library. This is a great way to read up on different locations and see all of the activities that you can do while you are in the city or country. You can also get some travel magazines to look at too to really get into the mindset of visiting that location.

Tip 3 – Use an online Map

This is a useful tool and if you can try to plan your trip on an online map. This enables to get the most out of your money that you are spending on the tickets by allowing you to track your trip clearly. Planning is important as otherwise you may need to backtrack and this could cost you more money.

Tip 4 – Consider your transportation method

You need to find the right transportation method for you. Do you go green when on rocky seas? Then taking the ferry might not be the best option for you perhaps you should fly instead. The right transport can make or break your trip both personally and financially so ensure to think deeply about your preferred travel methods.

Tip 5 – Save

Ensure that you have the money to take a trip so the next step is to save save save! You may be able to do a short break on your salary but if you wish to take a longer trip which may involve leaving your job then you will need much more money. Create a money goal & then take a percentage of your income each payday to save for your break. If you need to get a second job to top up your earnings then this may be a good idea.

Quite often companies will arrange special deals particularly at different times of the year or in competition with their travel rivals so you should ensure that you take advantage of this to get the best prices for you.

Tip 7 – Budget

The seventh tip is to figure out how much money that you want to spend on this trip. This is so you can budget the trip out and you will know exactly how much you can spend in one place. A good idea is to research the cost of daily living in each country you are visiting and to think about what comfort level you are happy traveling at.

Tip 8 – Documentation

If you are going away for a few days then you will not need much at all, two trousers, 3 tops, and clean underwear. For a long trip, you should pack for no more than 5-7 days remember you will most likely want to buy clothes along your way and people around the world have methods for clothes washing.
