So many times I´ve heard about Cartagena, but it was not until some friends went on a trip that I´ve realized the beauty of this marvellous place.
To give an idea, the city is located along the Caribbean Sea and is one of the most important tourist epicentres of Colombia.
Cartagena is a great place to travel, there are many places to go in Cartagena de Indias, where history, recreation and culture are together. A place to spend a pleasant and a memorable time.
In Cartagena you have beautiful beaches and Islands, historic places, Night-life and great restaurants with international Cuisine.
Cartagena's colonial walled city and fortress were designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984, and it is one of Cartagenas most important attractions. In this part of the city you can find the official entrance to down town Puerta del Reloj, which comes out onto Plaza de los Coches.
Another tourist attractions in this city area are the Plaza de la Aduana, next to the mayor's office, the San Pedro Claver Square and the church also named for Saint Peter Claver, where the body of the Jesuit saint ('Slave of the African slaves') is kept in a casket, as well as the Museum of Modern Art. Nearby is the Plaza de Bolívar and the Palace of the Inquisition.
