Prague, the mother of all cities

I remember the first time I saw pictures of Prague, I fell in love with city simply by seeing those photos. But visiting the city was one of my dreams. Just to tell you a little bit more of Prague, it is the capital of the Czech Republic. Situated on the banks of the Vltava River, its beauty and historical heritage make it one of the 20 most visited cities in the world. I am sure  that after reading this post you will see why.

During the last century, Prague has passed through two World wars, Nazi and Soviet occupation, but still it is one of the most important and beautiful capitals of Europe.

You surely will find that many people that had traveled to Prague say that the city is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Most of the tourist attractions are in the areas of the Historic center.

The Castle District (Hradcany), the Lesser Town (Malá Strana), the Old Town (Stare Metso) and the New Town (Nove Mesto), are part of this historic center of Prague, and I must say, there are places you should include while you are planning your trip. Just a quick tip, Prague is a very compact city and moving from Prague Castle to the Old Town can take you less than half an hour walking, so take your time to enjoy all of these areas visiting all the attractions that Prague has.

Naturally you can find a good Hotel in this area of the city I recommend it, as you can go everywhere from this place and visit most of the attractions from here.

Hradčany

This district is where the oldest castle in Prague is, and what you should want to see in Hradčany is the Castle of Prague, also in this area you can see the San Vito Cathedral, the Salm Palace and the Schwarzenberg Palace to mention some of the many attractions of Hradčany.

Malá Strana

The Lesser Town, is located in the foothills near the Castle of Prague, and it is full of magnificent palaces, churches and squares, which flourished under the shelter of the nobility of the empire. Here you can see the amazing beauty of Charles Bridge, the Strahov Monastery, the Saint Nicholas Church and many attractions such as palaces, churches and towers.

Staré Město

This is the Old Town, in this area of the city some of the oldest buildings in the city are together. Among the places you would want to see, you can find the Tyn Church, the Old Town Hall, and many other attractions.
But the Old Town Square is the place to see, stepping in the Old Town Square is like going back in time 700 years.

Nové Město

The New Town is an extension of the Old City which dates from the fourteenth century. The most important attractions in Nové Město are the Wenceslas Square, the Dancing House, the Powder Gate and many houses, theaters and squares.

Prague is so beautiful that it is called the mother of all cities.
