The amazing art in Japanese manhole covers


A couple of years ago, I had the enormous pleasure of visiting Japan, Tokyo to be more precise.
And while walking in the streets, something caught my eye, the drainage covers or manhole covers had different artistic figures and drawings, some of them were painted and had beautiful designs. 
Later I discovered that it is very common in all of Japan this kind of art using drainage covers.
