The phenomenal Dubailand theme park has it all

The world has watched the coastline of Dubai evolve from a desert village into a global city the size of which rivals international city spectaculars in sheer size and development. And now Dubailand, which started development in 2003 and halted in 2008, is back on track to be completed and have an opening date in 2014. The massive structure will feature international draw cards, such as a replicate of the Taj Mahal, amongst many others, but bigger.

Dubailand Features

It’s planned to be a theme park to rival the size and features of Disney World Orlando and Paris, combined. Everything about Dubailand is meant to evoke awe and amazement. The projects are not altogether original considering the architects are simply taking the other recognised landmarks and resizing them into an exceptionally large theme park.
Sweeping deserts, luxurious hotels, The Great Pyramid, Hanging Gardens of Babylon, massive Ferris Wheel to make The London Eye look tiny, The Great Wall of China – with a jogging track, London Bridge, Big Ben and the Coliseum are just a few of the greats that Dubailand architects plan on reinventing on a larger scale.
The entire Dubailand theme park is in the shape of a Falcon and will be larger than the city of Birmingham. Dubailand is mammoth at 107-miles so it can include all the listed landmarks, and that’s before one has mentioned the villa’s, luxury accommodation, Tiger Wood’s designer golf course, Las Vegas strip four times bigger than the actual Vegas strip, Formula 1 race track and The Pharoahs theme park which has ambitious rides to seriously evoke adrenaline-fuelled fun.
The huge development is set to cost a pretty penny. At $4.3 billion Dubailand has been on the cards for well over a decade. Building was halted in 2008 due to the recession that swept the globe and left Dubai financially devastated for a while. Now back from the brink and set to be completed in 2014, Dubailand is looking forward to really getting one particular project off the ground.
The Dubailand replica of the Taj Mahal, a palace constructed in the name of love, will have many luxurious hotel rooms. The $1 billion replica will include 300 hotel rooms and luxury shops and Dubailand are hoping to promote the structure, to be named the Taj Arabia, as the perfect place for weddings.
Situated in the extravagant 107-mile Dubailand, the six-themed park will be the ultimate getaway for tourists who want to experience a piece of every culture all combined into one amazing theme park. So far, Dubailand certainly seems to have it all.
